The art of shutting up

Soooo … Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Johnson, huh? And remember the old days of harassing Piggy Smith and campaigning for the Traffic Cone?

You know Twatto is going to come back and get a century in the remaining tests, right?

So, I might just shut the hell up from now on.

In other news: what the hell is that on Mitch’s face now?

We’ve been bad mouthing Twatto for a while now. It hasn’t helped him improve. Of course, he doesn’t seen to have to actually play well to get selected so that may be it.

Also, if Twatto actually did start playing well, I would take a sudden interest in curling.

Mitch is rockin’ with that second coming of the mo. His first spell was a cracker. And well, it’s Shaun Marsh he’ll be on crutches after about 4 innings after having scored about 72, then 21, then 10, then 3.

His hair looks terrible, though. One of my tweeps suggested that Mrs Pony had used a Vidal Sassoon home groom set with the wrong attachment: he hashtagged it #NasalHairRemover

Fab catch to remove Duminy. Though, funny how Pony manages to look at once ungainly and athletic.

Yes, he’s the oddest creature the Mo’man. It’s like he does everything in slow motion. That catch was a ripper once you saw it in ACTUAL slow motion, not only Mitch’s version of it.

Just turned on and saw Mitch’s 5th. Vern looked totally confused by him. Maybe he’s trying to work out what that bit of fluff on Mitch’s top lip is.

Hold on, it wasn’t Vern. That’s was 8.30am does to me.

Ooh and typos. Must stop. Now.

‘It’s like he does everything in slow motion.’

      That’s a really interesting observation.

He does look like he does most things in a sort of lumbering, del Potro-esque slow-mo.

Some fast bowlers – Steyn, for instance – look like lightning in just about everything, but Our Little ‘Tached Pony doesn’t: not even when bowling actually, but especially not when he’s fielding. I’m always in half-shock when he pulls off one those rather fabulous catches simply because I’m never really sure how he managed to get to the ball or react in time or … well, anything, really. Weird, because it’s not like he’s done it only the once.

He’s taken some amazing catches where he’s had to cover so much ground and you think, ‘he’s digging a trench as he runs, he can’t possibly… wtf? He did!’

It was a lovely slow ball to deceive AB who batted like the no 1 batsman in the world.

      It was!

Who would have believed that we’d be describing anything he sends down the pitch as ‘lovely’ a few years ago?!

Abandoning that swing/reverse swing stuff (which, on reflection, I’m not sure could ever work given his ‘slingy’ action) has worked wonders. And the ‘tache, of course.
